How to jinx your relationship in one easy step….write a blog about it. Sooooo, yeah, that’s done. *Laughs manically for a minute* Writing Get it Together probably wasn’t the smartest move. Relationship number 8 swirls down the toilet and disappears, without trace…… At least I’m consistent. One of the amazing things about writing a positivity blog is […]
It was 2009 when I watched Steve Jobs give his speech to Harvard graduates, recorded 4 years earlier. That speech resonated with me and I’ve listened to it a handful of times over the years. Today, I listened to it again. The first time I heard it was when I was working as a Personal Assistant. […]
For those of you who follow my instagram and/or twitter you’ll already know that I wrote a blog for Macmillan that was posted on Friday. I’ve been mad busy with volunteering for Age UK and The Lewis Foundation since then as well as just, you know, life, so I’m a little late in letting blog followers know the news….Sorry!
I’m massively honored that Macmillan thought my blog was worthy of sharing with people. They tweeted out the link to their 634k followers and I’m not gonna lie, I did cry a little bit. (Happy tears obvs) For me, it’s a big deal to put my story out there and to let strangers know about my Mum and what I went through. The point of doing it was hopefully to help at least one person. I’ve had an amazingly lovely response from friends and strangers alike and it’s been fucking awesome. The best part is that Macmillan say I can write for them regularly. Eeeeeeek!!!
So, for those of you who didn’t see it, click here to take a look at the blog.
Thanks everyone for the love and support. If you like what you read, please feel free to share, like and subscribe. #spreadthelove
Well fuck my actual life, it’s been one hell of a year. And when I say hell, it really has got close to a living hell for so many people around the world at so many moments. I know bad things have happened every year since the dawn of time but this particular year for […]
I had a long drive today. Driving always gives me the opportunity to put thought into real life things. Today’s topic: Christmas. Uuuggghhhh it’s such a draining subject that literally fills me with dread whenever I think about it. It’s 7 weeks until Christmas. When I was a kid that was a whole lifetime away. […]
Yesterday was 364 days. Yesterday I felt fine about it, didn’t think twice. Today it’s 365 days. There is something significant about day 365 that can make you feel a tiny bit shit. To put it into perspective, my little body on this spaceship we call Earth has physically orbited the Sun by one whole […]
I’ve been thinking about the power of thought quite a lot lately. I feel like this past 12 months has been a watershed in what I’ve learnt about myself and other people. It’s like something has clicked. I read a tweet today from action for happiness: “Life is happier when we let go of trying […]
You see I’m not very good at relationships. I’ll re phrase that, I’m great at some relationships. Friendships I’m pretty damn good, work relationships, sorted. Father/daughter relationship, gotta say, I’m the shit. Romantic relationships…..forget about it. And no, this is not a Carrie Bradshaw style musing about how shit it is to be single (or independent as […]
I remember the light coming in from the landing and Dad’s silhouette in the door frame. “You better come downstairs, I think she’s gone.” It was about 5am, I’m pretty sure it was still dark outside and as it was August, it might have been even earlier than that. It was difficult to tell if […]
